Purpose Statement.
“The purposes for which Down But Not Out Communications, Inc. was formed are: equipping adult and juvenile offenders, ex-offenders and at-risk youth to overcome personal challenges through programs designed to provide character training skills that promote self awareness and control; to facilitate resources for mentoring and accountability for that population; and to provide spiritual encouragement."
Organization.
Down But Not Out Communications, Inc. was formed to capitalize on the positive community response to the possibility of personal transformation through accountability, character and beliefs. Down But Not Out Communications, Inc. presenters utilize material produced by the Character Training Institute (www.characterfirst.com) as the basis for program presentations. (The Character Training Institute publishes and sells materials to the public that promote character qualities and training through a program titled “Character First”. Many cities, schools and organizations utilize this same material to promote and educate people regarding communities of character.) In providing programming in the correctional facilities, Down But Not Out Communications, Inc. presenters focus on a character quality selected for that day’s presentation. A talk is given regarding the character quality, coupled with small or large group discussion of the material and examples for personal application.
